You can renew registration and receive your DMV tags at the DEQ inspection stations. Be sure to bring:
Your entire (both parts) DMV registration renewal form with sections 1 and 2 completed. One of the registered owners must sign the renewal.
Cash, credit or debit card to pay for the emissions test AND your DMV registration fees.
The testing fee in the Portland area is $21.
There is no charge if your vehicle does not pass the emissions test.

As of January 1st, 2007 DEQ Clean Air Stations will no longer accept checks for testing, registration and renewal fees. Cash, Credit or Debit ONLY. Checks are only accepted at DMV Field Offices and by mail to DMV.
As of July 2, 2007 the Scappoose Clean Air Station will no longer be open on Tuesdays. The Station will be open Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. The station is closed Sunday-Wednesday and Holidays.
Portland-area Clean Air Stations are normally closed Sunday, Monday and holidays.
The Rogue Valley Station in Medford is closed Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
Tuesday is generally the busiest day of the week for Portland-Metro area Vehicle Inspection Stations. Lines are often shorter on Thursdays and Fridays and mid-month. DEQ offers Wednesday evening and Saturday morning hours.
